Tropical Fish Expo - Carolina Aquarium Workshop XVI
Dear friends, fellow hobbyists and sister
organizations:
The Raleigh Aquarium Society will be presenting a
"Tropical Fish Expo and Carolina Aquarium Workshop
XVI" on February 25-27, 2000 at the Heather Hills Club
in Garner, NC. The Expo will kickoff with a Native
Fish collecting trip led by Gerald Pottern on Friday
afternoon, followed by nationally acclaimed aquarists
speaking on Friday evening and throughout the day on
Saturday. There will be a Dinner on Saturday evening
featuring Dr. Wayne Leibel, who will give a talk on
the "History of the Aquarium Hobby" to conclude the
day. On Sunday, there will be an auction of fish,
plants and aquarium supplies.
Other scheduled speakers are:
Gary Lange, President of the Rainbow Fish Study Group
on "Australian Rainbowfish"
Ray Lucas, Chairman of Kingfish Services on
"Collecting in Peru"
Dr. Wayne Leibel, Tropical Fish Hobbist on "New World
Cichlids"
Tom Allen, Chairman of the International Fancy Guppy
Association on "Fancy Guppies"
Patrick McMillan, Aquatics Curator, North Carolina
State Museum of Natural Sciences on "Shiners and
Native NC Fish"
David Herlong, ACA, on "Malawi Cichlids"
Scott Saunders, Owner of "Oodles of Angels" on
"Breeding and Raising Pterophyllum Scalare Freshwater
Angelfish"
Jeff Voet on "Marine Aquariums"
Dr. Robert Goldstein on "Breeding Marine Fish"
As an added bonus, we will also have a tour of the
North Carolina State Museum of Natural Sciences
conducted by Patrick McMillan, Aquatics Curator.
