Mostly, Daphnia seem to be attracted to light, so they are probably attracted
to the window during the day and the room light reflections off the window at
night. I put a tube light over my cultures and leave it on 24 hours a day.
That way the daphnia congregate in a band across the tank, spreading them out
a bit over a corner Hang-Out. When there is a lot of food in the water,
daphnia congragate more. As the food particles thin out the daphnia spread
out quite a bit, in very clear water almost completely.
