Re: Live Foods Digest V2 #271

I have some reservation about using convicts as feeders because they have hard
spines. There was a college student in the news because he attempted to
swallow a cichlid and died when the fish stuck and could not be removed. I
don't want to compare humans and fish, just that the physical danger is there
regardless of your species. Convicts are also very smart and if there is
extensive rock work, some of them are likely to find refuge, grow, and later
turn the tables on other fish. A pair of convicts can kill much larger fish in
defense of eggs or young.
