Re: [Live-foods] Best Daphnia Foods

I have had good results with Roti-Rich (powder type sold by Florida Aqua
Farm) and Daphnia Food (sold by lfscultures) for many years. Either one
works well alone, but I mix the two and a pinch of yeast to it. I dissolve
a 1/8 teaspoon of the mix in 1 quart of dechlorinated water and pout it into
my daphnia tanks. The tank water appears just barely cloudy when I add the
solution. This may be a bit more expensive but a lot easier than other
method. I also culture nanochloropsis (green water) in fresh water, too.
Daphnia raised on green water tend to grow larger in my experience (probably
because of constant feeding.)

Subject: [Live-foods] Best Daphnia Foods

Hi,

I am trying to keep some daphnia alive I recently collected here in So.
Cal.
Can you list the three best foods to feed them?

Sandy
