[Live-foods] Tetraselmis and other phytoplankton

Zapisto,

Nanochloropsus (Japanese Chlorella) and Nannochloris can be
grown in either saltwater or freshwater. Tetraselmis and
Isocrysis tolerate low salinities but best growth normally
obtained in 15 to 25 ppt.

My apisto breeder friend in Japan was culturing Chlorella to
feed his daphnia awhile ago. You can also feed artemia with
nanochloropsus or other phytoplankton such as tetraselmis
after artemia reaches instar II stage (when they start
eating) to make bbs more nutritious. Some salt water fish
breeders do this to enrich artemia. However, adult artemia
can be enriched much more efficiently than bbs using
phytoplankton.
