Snail to eat scum?

Hi Gang!

Many of my outdoor culture tubs/buckets/wading pools have developed an algal
scum that is a real nuisance.

Do any of you have a snail or other organism that is good at cleaning the
surface?

I have ramshorn snails and common pond snails, both of which do travel (and
eat) on the surface by using the surface tension of the water. They do this
especially when young, but it's still only occasionally, and not enough to
clear up the scum I've got.

I'd especially be interested in any tiny snails, or something else that
would not interfere with cladoceran production, but would work on algae at
the surface.

Thanks for any help.
