Bread as food

I read the recent post on the feeding
of Microworm cultures. I have
raised mine on the baby cereal/
yeast method.... they grow just
fine but, man, a soured culture
is enough to make me think another
hobby :-)

I was just reading through Harro
Hieronimus/ Matthew Vriends book
from Barron's Press entitled:
"Guppies, Mollies , Platys - a
compete pet owners manual"
1991

How surprised I was to read that
Harro suggests simply placing a
piece of bread in the glass of
plastic container. Nothing else.
Let the culture stand a few days
then swipe off the worms that
have crawled up the sides.
(NOTE - use well-fitting lid)
Use some worms for a new
culture.

Anyone tried this?
