My experience with white worms is that it takes 2-3 weeks for a culture
to "take off". Mine do better at temps in the 50-65 degree range in
almost soggy dirt-never seen a white worm that died of drowning. As for
feed, I just put a teaspoon of cooked oatmeal on top.  Oh, one other
thing--peat is normally acidic and it seems to me mine do better in
alkaline soil. Might try mixing a little baking soda in with the peat.
