Brian,

Look for pointy dorsal and anal fins, first. I think they may show before
the caudal squares off. Use a flashlight and look for color on the sides.
Irridescence and the red start to show in just a few weeks, but are hard to
see without direct flashlight illumination (and magnification, for me).

I may be a poor judge, for others seem to be able to sex young Fp. before I
can. I wish they would tell me how *they* do it!
