The answer to your question is: Actually both. I've Included below the
unedited e- mail as seen by a computer, most good mail readers will suppress
the headers and formatting. All messages we get from killietalk use MIME.
HTML is just one more MIME type, but not all mail readers are capable of
decoding a content type of text/html. The first thing you see is the header
(up to the first blank line), it gives info about all the relay computers,
times, program used, MIME version, etc. then a text message, suppressed by
smart mail clients but readable by all if not, that states the message is
multi- part. After that we have 3 parts one with content type of text/plain
(the one quoted above), the second part is content type text/html and the
third is a text/plain part telling us how to unsubscribe.
