Since you brought up computers I will geek out on you :-)
The reason your computer makes so much noise is the processor, that is why they
say you have an N mghz processor. Of course you don't need a radio tuner on
your card anymore as you can listen to the radio over the internet ;-). As a
matter of trivia, computer processors are nearing the 1000 mghz mark in speed.
As I understand it, somewhere around that point the signals no longer travel
the circuits but instead broadcast. Totally unrelated but I always thought it
was interesting to consider.
Tracing can be done with a portable AM radio tuned to a low spot on the dial
(55) with no station and volume up enough to hear hissing. Walk around and
listen to all your appliances, etc. It will shock you when you walk near
some (like your computer). There's a reason *no one* makes an AM tuner on a
card for your computer. :-)
