Bill,
    I bought a pair of A. lamberti TDK 97/17 at the Syracuse convention in 
1998. The female died before a week was over, but the male lived until a few 
weeks ago in a 1 gallon glass tank with Java moss and dechlorinated tapwater 
(GH 120 ppm) with 1 tsp salt/gal. Nothing special and mostly neglected since 
I never found a female. It didn't seem very fussy about conditions, it only 
got occasional water changes. Maybe your water changes are too much for them.
