Re: Pair of fish for new members! att: Bill Shenefelt

Hi,
My 2 cents (cdn) on this is if it goes through, it should have a
coordinator of distribution. I'd volunteer to send Aphyosemion eggs to
any new Canadian members (we can't legally ship fish by mail). So
someone joins and requests the service, I get contacted and voila. There
are no 20 boxes a month involved. With a network of volunteers and one
person doing the contact work, it could work.
If it doesn't work, it's a disaster. It would cost us a lot of new
members who would feel shortchanged. I don't think it's necessary as a
program, but if we don't go for it, we should edit out the reference to
the past program.
I'd like to think most members do this anyway. I've given away lots of
fish and eggs to newbies. I think it's only really a problem for
isolated new members who don't get to meet another killiekeeper.
