Re: AKA founded in...
Hello Matt,
The genesis of AKA started in August 1961, in Middletown, OH, by Al Klee
and Bob Criger. They were joined by John Gonzales, Bruce Turner, Bernard
Halverson, George Maier and Charles Glut to form the AKA Charter
Committee.
The elections for the Board were held late in 1961, or early in 1962. By
February 1962 the first board consisted of:
Albert J. Klee -- President,
Robert O. Criger -- Secretary
Dr. Stanley H. Weitzman -- Treasurer
The other members of the Board were:
Dr. James N. Adams
Richard Haas
George J. Maier
Dr. Edward B. Seligmann, Jr.
The first issue of "AKA Killie Notes" was published in February 1962.
Hope that this helps!
Best,
George
