I had a similar experience just last week.  I purchased a nice young reverse
trio of A. bitaeneatum CIN 97 at my local affiliate's auction.  I set them
up the next morning and went away for the weekend.  As bad luck would have
it they looked horrible when I got home and despite my best efforts all
three were dead by Tuesday.  Fortunately I found 7 eggs in the mop, that was
in their tank and they are developing nicely.

PS  My BNL arrived on Thursday,10-14-99, here in Mahopac NY.  It's almost
always here by the 10th.
