Re: new members
Dennis, I attend the meetings of a couple of killie clubs and go to several clubs auctions. That means that at least once a month I end up driving 100 miles each way to a meeting. I have found that a good way to start a local killie club is to sell or give a couple of pairs of killies to a couple of local pet shops in exchange that they put up a flyer announcing a killie meeting. Make that first meeting informal and friendly. Once you have made a few contacts see if any of your friends want to carpool to another clubs show or meeting. Believe me, in that car for several hours you will either form the nucleus of a club or realize why you don't want to have a club. If you are an AKA member you might also want to contact the membership chairman for an updated roster of AKA members in your area. Drop them a postcard telling them about your meeting. Good Luck bob

Mike,
My name is Dennis Redfearn, I'm a new member and when I get setup with my
paper work and everything else I'd like to try and get a killi club started
here in the North Texas area. That includes "Dallas", Ft worth, Plano, and
about 2-3 million people within 50 miles of my home. I'll need help I'm not
from what I read one of your higher class members. I've driven a truck for
the last 28 years until I got hurt. But I've raised fish for over 30 years
and had killi's for 7 years before I got out of fish all together because of
my injuries. So if I ask hope you will help.
