Re: Aphyo. schmitti "Juarzon"

When I am in doubt with a fish this is what I try. Set up the pair or trio in a heavily planted aquarium with peat moss or mud on the bottom. Feed heavily. Live food should always be in the aquarium. Daphnia, mosquito larvae, moths. After two weeks move the parents to another new aquarium and repeat. With any luck, the parents will have left some eggs in the first aquarium which will hatch in a week or two. Some variations would be warmer temperatures, softer water, trade partners. Best Wishes Bob

Hi Killiefriends,

I have received eggs of A. schmitti "Juarzon" and A. cauveti "Kindia" that
became from an American friend (I live in Brazil) some months ago. Now I
possess about 15 fishes (some pairs among them) of each specie, but I still
not got out any eggs from my fishes. Please, I need some information about
how can I to get out eggs from my Aphyosemions. I don't have any experience
with these species, but I want really keep them in my fishroom.

Thanks for all.
