Since tossing fish in outdoor ponds has been mentioned a lot, I wanted to comment.
Please before adding a non-native fish to *any* outdoor water feature, make
sure that there is no possibility of the pond spilling over. This sort of "accident"
can result in the decimation of local killies and other species. Of course if
you mean fish that wont survive the winter, then there is obviously no harm.
If there is a remote possibility of the fish escaping to reproduce in natural
local waters, then keep them inside :-) Just my $.02
