Premature hatching

I have just tried using water incubation with Acriflavine. Evidently
something is wrong. I have eggs shedding their eggshells from three
different fish. They were collected 6 to 8 days ago and are not ready to
hatch.

I placed the eggs in a petri dish with a loose fitting top. They were in
the parents' water with just enough Acriflavine to stain the water. Granted
some of dishes maybe closer to green tinted than just stained. I changed
water almost everyday; however, I did not replenish the Acriflavine until
approximately day 5 when I started noticing some fungus. Yesterday I
noticed some eggs with straight tails sticking out. Tonight I had more and
some out of the shell. They are not fully developed and are not attempting
to move. But they are still alive as you can observe their beating heart
and mouth movement.

Is this a common occurrence with Acriflavine? What did I do wrong? For
now I'm returning to incubation on wet peat.
