No can of worms. It's an old story. The genotypical specimen of *Rollofia*
was misidentified, as I understand it. The ICZN, in its infinite wisdom,
declared the whole genus name null and void, and never to be used again (to
avoid potential confusion in literature searches). The fish formerly in it
were reclassified back to *Aphyosemion* (*Callopanchax* sub genus?).

This ticked off a *lot* of hobbyists, who have great respect for Roloff.
They are trying to "force" use of the name to get it reinstated. They hope
it can be like a common-law marriage. [If it's around long enough, maybe
others will eventually accept it.] That's mostly in Europe (see the Baensch
Atlas series, for example).

Scientists, like Radda and Purzl in their _Color Atlas..._ refuse to use it,
of course.

In the US, the AKA tries hard to get us to use the correct ICZN
nomenclature, to cut confusion and misidentification. [Of course that really
does little to make any of it clear. :-)]

We do have a few die-hards here, who are part of the reinstatement campaign,
too, BTW.
