Killifish known from the state of Bahia include: Cynolebias albipunctatus,
C. leptocephalus, C. porosus, Simpsonichthys bokermani, S. fulminantis, S.
hellneri, S. myersi, Leptolebias leitaoi, Rivulus bahianus, R. decoratus,
R. depressus and R. urophthalmus.
Locations include:
o middle Rio Sao Francisco basin, Minas Gerais and Bahia states (S. hellneri)
o middle Sao Francisco flood plains, Bahia (C. albipunctatus)
o stream into Etacao Ecologica Pau-Brasil, Rio Joao de Tiba basin near
Porto Seguro (R. depressus)
o several locations coastal plains, Caravelas southwards (S. myersi)
o Prado (S. myersi)
o coastal plains/swamp in Rio Mucuri basin (L. leitaoi)
o Mucuri (L. leitaoi & S. myersi)
o near bend in the Rio Icatu at Ibiraba (R. decoratus)
o near Rio Icatu falls, Ibiraba, in the Sao Francisco basin (R. decoratus)
o Guanambi (S. fulminantis, S. hellneri & C. leptocephalus)
o Canudos (C. porosus)
o 70 km. south of Uana, County of Jauzeiro (C. albipunctatus)
o Euclides da Cunha (C. porosus)
o near Itapoa, in surroundings of Aeroport de Salvador do Bahia
international airport (R. bahianus)
o Alagoinhas, Rio Catu just north of Salvador do Bahia (R. bahianus & R.
urophthalmus)
o Ilheus, CEPLA or CEPLAC area (S. bokermani)
o coastal plains/swamp near Ilheusa (S. bokermani)
