I have observed that most killies will eat ground up Purina Trout Chow but 
will not touch flake foods. They also will eat without much persuasion any of 
the dried shrimp, worms, etc. They apparently don't care for cereal based 
foods. In any circumstance, no one food should be used alone, but a variety 
including live foods is essential. Even large cichlids will eat Purina Trout 
Chow only if it is somewhat crushed.
