My best guess is that they are another misuse of the genus *Bivittatum*.
At one time or another, someone has labeled nearly every species in the
entire *Chromaphyosemion* group a "BIV." The "multicolor" could well be
just *A. splendopleure*, but I'm not really sure.
I am told that there are only two true actual BIV locations in the
hobby. Those are Funge and Ojibu Ode. The rest are some other kind of
*Chromaphyo*.
It confuses things a lot less if we get in the habit of using the
"*Chromaphyosemion*" group, instead of the "*Bivittatum*" group. If it's
not Funge or Ojibu Ode, leave the BIV out of the name.

Stop passing new laws!
Repeal some disfunctional ones. It will do far more good.
