Jim: Most invertebrates, including hydra, are extremely sensitive to copper
compounds. You could use a commercial copper mixture designed for curing
oodinium infections, or add a couple of copper (not the new zinc-copper
clad) pennies to the tank (assuming tank size is approximately 10 gallons).
If you use the copper penny approach, be sure to remove them after the hydra
are gone, since the copper can build to dangerous levels if left over a
couple of weeks.
