Akampa

I have always seen the spelling of this strain as Akampa. Fp. gardneri
clauseni was meant to designate populations around the Akure and Owo area of
Nigeria. Fp. gardneri nigerianus contains populations such as Makurdi, Jos
Plateau andI Misaje. It is not clear if Scheel actually published a
description of this nomenclature ie. Fp gardneri clauseni.  Lazara thinks that
he did and others do not. The controversy had to do with the correctness of
the publication as to whether or not it qualified as a correct description.
