Re: apistos and killies

Hello Lee
As to keeping Apistos and Killies together I do it all the time. Many
of my Apistos regularly have 3 or 4 of my extra males of some type of
Aphyosemion or Fundulopanchax. I use to breed my Cacatuoides in a 10
gallon tank with several N'sukka males as a sort of dither fish. I've
never tried breeding the killies in the same tank as an Apisto. I
should try it.

Also, if you're keeping your Cacatuoides in 68 to 70 degree water,
that's too cold for them. 76 to 78 is much better. But an in between
temp or 75 will allow both species to feel comfortable and still spawn.
My apartment goes into the mid 80's in the summer because of all the
large glass picture windows and I refuse to buy an air conditioner for
only 3 to 4 weeks a year use. My mop spawners still spawn even in the
82 sto 84 degree water. I do a few more water changes in that
temperature though. Gotta keep the oxygen level up. Well I hope
this helps someone.
