Proxy bidding

I think the only practical way to set up proxy bidding is for the bidder to
find a friend or someone that they can trust to do it for them and have
that person do the bidding, later shipping or transport etc. From our
experience last year I would say it would be impossible to have members of
the host club do it. They are just too busy running the thing. Remember
that hundreds of items are auctioned within a few hours. Just keeping up
with running fish bags to the auctioneer, then to the buyers, collecting
the money, keeping records, etc is a real chore.

UNYKA very briefly thought about some sort on online bidding but realized
that it is just too complex to set up for a once a year affair and that it
would undoubtedly slow the auction too much

I hope those wanting to bid in absentia can find someone to do it for them.
