Lacking a .sig to tell where you are, it's tough to help with specific
information. Around here, Jersey Greensand is available in any
hydroponics shop, and some more full-line nurseries.

Silica sand is available nearly everywhere in a variety of meshes and
grades. "Playground Sand" and "Sandblasting Sand" are two of the
finer-mesh varieties. Try Home Depot or your local equivalent.

Most of us have abandoned them, for the greensand is perpetually messy,
and the silica sand damages most eggs to some extent.

Another spawning medium is the tiny glass beads used to make highway
stripes retroreflective. I just killed a nice rare pair of SA annuals
when they thought the beads (<<0.5mm) were eggs and gorged on them until
they died!

Use peat. It works better.
