I have several young male LIN that I'd like to cross with an older, and
larger female. At what size can I attempt to breed them? The males are
about 2" and the female is full growm at about 4"

I'm in the exact same situation now with LIN gold. I don't know if it will
work - one male's already been eaten by the larger female. I think it probably
depends on the mood of the individual fish, but I've done best with the male's
at least as big as the females (not the other way around) with LIN. Epiplatys
roloffi, the females can be a little bigger.
LIN are aggressive fish; they may not be a good fish to try smaller males :
larger females. But, I also didn't have a spare tank to move both fish to
and I put the males in with the female in a tank she'd been in for some time
so maybe putting them in new habitat would have helped.
Anyway anyone got some good size LIN gold males to swap for some bmf females?
