Hi,
I agree with Wright about adult killies, although I keep Aphyosemion
which don't have the extremes of growth/decrepitude that Nothos etc
have. One observation I can add though is that during the summer, I had
to leave on an emergency basis. Thinking I was going for 3-4 days, I
threw handfuls of java moss and green thread algae into my 10 gallon
growout tanks, each of which had 15-20 fry. When I returned 3 weeks
later, the ex-fry were juveniles, just as robust as if I'd cared for
them (the ingrates!). They grew into healthy adults which are now
breeding. I see no developmental difference. Made me feel unimportant.
