I had R. milesi in a tank with a flat rock lying partially in/partially out of
the water, right under the tank light.  They would lay out and "sun"
themselves very frequently.  Leave the room dark and the light on in the tank
and sneak up on it.  They shouldn't be hard to find out of the water if
nothing frightens them.
