Mystery Cynolebias ???
At the 1997 AKA National Convention in St. Louis, I bought a pair of fish
labeled as Cynolebias sp. CXCL0004. I lost the male withon two days
and then the female a few weeks later (they were old fish). I have since
learned that the pair I bought really don't look at all like the real Cyn.

The fish I bought had the shape of a Cyn. nigripinnis but was about 50%
larger. It had the same pattern as NIG but was a light powder blue body
color. It was the same color that's on the face of the CXCL0004 in the
above photo.
Any ideas on what I really had? Cyn. affinnis?? Or a different
undescribed species??

(How I wish I had taken a picture of it! Even a photo of the dead fish
would help.)
