FWIW, Ringers solution is used in medicine to replace body fluid (not
blood).  It has the desity and composition properties similar to the body's
internal fluids.  I believe it's slightly saline, which may account for an
ability to stave off fungus infections as the environment would not be
ideal for fungal growth.  It may be possible to mix a comprible solution at
home.  Dr. Harry Specht may be a better source on this stuff.
