I was given 5 fry in mid-summer and they lived in a 10 gallon tank
until just about 1 week ago. At that time I removed the two smaller
males and the smaller female and gave them their own tank. Some
aggressive activities are apparent by the condition of the less
dominant males' fins. A larger tank might have given some more
"running" room and that might have been less of a problem. The bigger
problem has been the growth rate of the fish. They are now 3-4 inches
long and a pair is all you will want in a ten gallon tank and it might
be better to give 'em a 15 or 20 if you have them.

I have been picking eggs every week or so and get 15 to 20 eggs each
time I pull the mops. I am water incubating the eggs and they take a
bit longer than most other fish (except for my dirt spawners) close to
4 or 5 weeks if I remember right.

They'll eat you out of house and home! Tons of brine shrimp and they
love red worms!!!!!!!!! Plan on building a "Gularis House" when they
take off for you cause you are gonna need bigger tanks and more of
'em!

Have fun!
