Dan, et al, I hooked two plain copper wires to a 9 volt battery, and placed the other ends in the tank. W/in 5 minutes all the hydras in the tank had shriveled up. I left the wires in for an hour and the fish did not seem to be affected, but the hydras are now gone. Mickey
