for Drosophila, the larvae eat yeast and the sugars the yeast produce
from the starch-rich culture medium, be it cornmeal, potatoes, or baby
cereal. With Daphnia cultures, the issue is the competition for oxygen
between the yeast and the Daphnia. If you don't overdo it, live should
be no problem w/them. It isn't for me,at least.
