Re: KillieTalk Digest V2 #397 -- food for baby killies
Mike, as a newbie, be advised there is no better food for new killie fry than
newly hatched brine shrimp. By newly hatched, I mean barely 24 hrs when the
shrimp are smallest and have the most nutrition in their bodies from the
shrimp egg. It is simple to hatch brine shrimp. consult the AKA Homepage at
http://www.aka.org/ for information about this as well as handling killifish
eggs.
I might mention, hardboiled egg yolk - powdered to make a cloud in the water
has been used for baby fish, but be careful of polluting the water. Infusoria
-- green water and use Java Moss for these microscopic organisms is a food,
but brine shrimp is best and would recommend you shoot for that. Good luck
