Nothobranchius albimarginatus was collected for the first time on our 97
trip. It was previously designated N. sp. Kiparanganda TAN 97/40. The
correct designation now is N. albimarginatus Kiparanganda TAN 97/40. N.
annectans was collected in 1995 and designated as N. sp. "Bagamoyo TAN
95/13". We collected it from two additional locations in 1997, designated
as N. sp. "Somanga north TAN 97/34" and N. sp. "Kitonga south TAN 97/36.
These fish should now be designated N. annectens "Bagamoyo TAN 95/13", and
so on. As always, please keep the populations separate.

The choice of journals was predicated by some needs that in publishing
these descriptions. I have some personal views about which journals are
appropriate for publication of descriptions of new species. If these are to
be legitimate scientific publications, they should be in peer reviewed
journals. However, the ICZN at present requires only that they appear in
publications available for sale to the general public. Personally I'd like
to see the "rules" tightened up".

I will have to leave it to Brian to comment on the status of the other two
species you mention. By the way, I am copying this to killietalk, as it
might help people to clarify the corresponding field designations and the
new published names. Some people will have acquired these fish under the
field names and should now use the correct corresponding names.
