Collecting in NYS/ Rain Water Killies

For all of you that are interested in collecting native killie fish in NY
state.

I spoke with Mr. Art Falk of the NY State Fisheries Department this morning
and he told me that there are very few regulations against collecting
Killies in NY. For Fresh water you need to have a State Fishing License.
This allows you to use a seine net of up to 36 square Ft. in waters not
inhabited by Trout, or a dip net in waters that are inhabited by trout. In
salt water and the Hudson river you do not need a license. He told me that
I should refer to page 10 of the state fishing guide for more detailed
specifics. I will try to obtain this guide today or tomorrow and will
post my findings. Until then I would still love to hear form anyone with
experience in breading Rain Water Killies.
