If I didn't (know how to) use filters I would prefer the digest to reduce the clutter, but the filters do it for me. I much prefer individual messages so my filters can do the work for me. There are some topics or folks I just prefer to filter into the trash and others I want to give priority to. Digests take more time because I have to (at least) skim all of the postings.
