Beginners Program

Two birds with one stone. Nice touch.

The club must be careful to start off easy. Such a serious commitment
may scare off someone who is really new and unsure. The _mentor_
would say something like "We are participating in the AKA's species
maintenance program. Here's a pair of (insert species here) to get you
started in killies. If they work out for you we can discuss how you can
participate in the program, if you want to, at the next meeting."

This gets the fish in their fish room. Invites (entices?) them back to the
next meeting, and gently pulls them into the program, if they want to
participate.
