water hardness

Hi,
          I have a simple short question maybe some one could answer for
me.
 I have just started with killies again after about seven years and
found a new
 problem? "or maybe not" . I used to have to always soften my tap water
were
 I used to live but were I live now my tap water comes out about 2 dh &
6.5ph.
 my house does not have a water softener ( this is just what the city
water quality is)
 is there something I should add to harden the water a bit or just count
my blessing
 and consider my self lucky.
