Re: Sex Ratios
Dear Frederick,
In our fishroom, we have noticed that Fp. Amieti, Fp. Misaje, A. Striatum
and others have been male heavy. However, also had another gardneri, where
one hatching was 90% male, and 3 mos. later (with the same parents) was 90%
female. Strange how this works. Any of the top three fish mentioned would
work well as they are very hardy and produce many eggs in a short period of
time.
Would be interested in any conclusion your students might draw. Have often
wondered what contributing factors cause one-sided sex ratios.
