Genetics
Hi Jeff. I was thinking along the lines you are suggesting but the
aberrations all seem to be constant. I have a strain of A.
splendopleure that some of the fry have shortened snouts and bird-beak
mouths. I have had a few (maybe three or four out of about twenty from
my last generation) and I suspect it is genetic. And I have had some
hatches from soil spawners that have a large number of belly sliders.
I realize that I held the eggs too long.
Thanks for your thoughtful response.
