I have bred killies for over 20 years and I must also agree that killies can
be raised
on flake food. However I find that if you raise the fry with live baby brine
and the adults with other live foods as supplements you get much better and
healthier fish.
They can be sustained on flake food but they will be healthier and be more
prolific if fed live foods also.
