Frans, they may be in need of more oxygen. If you have aeration, can you turn it up? There often is a slightly higher oxygen level in that cm just below the surface and that may be why that Notho is there.

I notice that you have several other fishes in the aquarium. It is easy for me to say, not always easy to do,but could you remove some of those fishes, especially the livebearers. ;)

I recall my college student days,student housing and juggling residents of tanks to properly house too many fish.

If the tank is much above  above 27 C, could you aim a portable fan at the aquarium? I know that sounds a little crazy, but as you know know warm water holds less free oxygen than cooler water.

This sounds contradictory but I noticed a sprig of Cabomba or a similar plant in the video. If you have more of those sprigs of Cabomba and an available light, as I'm sure you have done, shine the light on the Cabomba. That genus of plants need a lot of illumination but are also good provider of oxygen. The temperature may go up a bit but if you have already dropped the aquarium's population, that could help.

If you have some water prepared for a partial water change, if you can add it without stressing the Nothos, that can improve water quality too by removing organic wastes from the water column. Perhaps you will be removing some water to set up the livebearers elsewhere any way.

As aquarists accumulate tanks and fish, we also often accumulate buckets (and an amazing quantity of useful junk). I have a couple of clean water buckets and a couple of waste water buckets. One of the clean water buckets can temporarily sit on the floor, hold the extra fish or maybe your Nothos and an airstone.

You probably have to be concerned with keeping your killies comfortable in summer weather. In the central US, we usually have to this time of the year. The warmth will be back here but we have lately had unseasonably cool weather and I was busy closing windows yesterday evening.

When the dog took me for a walk rather early this morning, it was 14.5 C outside.
