I use a plastic mesh that I believe is called quilter's fabric.  It has
2-3mm square holes.  To secure it, I take the plastic binding from Report
Covers (found in the school supply section of almost any store with such
things) and silicone it to the sides of the tank.  The fabric slides right
in.
