[Killietalk] still looking for Kryptolebias; need hints on K. caudomarginatus

Please pass the word that I am still looking for stocks of K. brasiliensis and
K. sepia. Would be delighted with adults, young fry, eggs, etc. Also could use
lonely hearts, fixed in ethanol (no literary pretensions intended).

I have a stock of K. caudomarginatus that I got earlier this year from Brian
Perkins. This is the third or fourth time I have had this species and tried to
build a laboratory colony. Egg production has been very poor. I think I have a
total of 11 or 12 progeny. I have read all the literature I could find on this
species, and am aware that some consider it a "burst" spawner, putting out large
numbers of eggs episodically in response to environmental changes. I have tried
changes in salinity (up to about 50 - 60% sea water) and temperature (up to
about 84 F), both individually and in combination. The largest number of eggs
I've ever gotten at one time is 12. I feed frozen blood worms, mosquito larvae,
and young guppies in large numbers. I would love to hear from anyone who has had
consistent success with this species,
