If it is a fish you hae been keeping for a few years you may notice that the
dsirable characteristics that were there are not so evident any more, such
as color, finnage, etc. If it is a fish you have newly acquired, you may
have to do some comparisons with photos or documented information as to what
the fish is supposed to look like. Often times it can just be a lack of
color intensity of amounts of color in the fish. Always use your best fish
for spawning to try to maintain the desirable traits of that particular
fish.
