[Killietalk] Snails

Hey gang,
              Today I went to the lfs to get some snails for my fry tanks, the only type I could get out of their tanks were some Malaysian livebearing snails. I understand these burrow into the gravel but I don't keep gravel in my tanks so I was wondering if these will still prosper and breed in my tanks?

As long as yo do not overfeed the tank the snails will not overpopulate the tank. They need food to be able to reproduce and as long as you are syphoning the bottom regularly then there should not be that much food left for the snails to be able to overpopulate the tank. Plus in a bare bottom tank you can see them to syphon them out if they get too thick.
